In an effort to provide transparency and share information with those we serve, we are sharing with you the below list of notable calls for service for May. Note that this is not a complete list of calls as JPD officers handled hundreds of other calls in May. Names and locations have been removed to protect the privacy of those involved. 5/4 @ 6:14 p.m. – Officers were dispatched to a welfare check. Upon arrival, the officers found the man was intoxicated and had been court-ordered to maintain absolute sobriety. A preliminary breath test (PBT) was administered and the result was .19%. The man was transported to the Washington County Jail and charges were sent to the District Attorney’s Office.

5/4 @ 10:00 p.m. – Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. The complainant said his ex-girlfriend threatened him with a knife. The matter was investigated, and a report sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review.

5/8 @ 5:20 p.m.- Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy 45. Heroin and multiple items drug paraphernalia were in the vehicle. Two adult males were arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail.

5/9 @ 11:18 a.m. – Officers took an adult into protective custody.

5/10 @ 12:30 p.m.-JPD was informed of a vehicle driving complaint on Hwy 60. The officer located the vehicle and stopped it. The driver was arrested for Operating while Under the Influence (OWI) Fourth Offense. He was booked at the jail.

5/10 @ 3:42 p.m. – Officers were requested by the Department of Corrections to arrest a man that had a warrant. The man was located, arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.

5/11 @12:22 a.m. – An officer on patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. Officer Mueller smelled the odor of intoxicants coming from the driver. The driver was arrested for OWI 1st offense (PBT .112%).

5/16 @9:25 p.m. – While on a traffic stop, an officer observed items of drug paraphernalia on the lap and seat of a passenger. A search of the vehicle was done, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia were located. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger was arrested for a probation violation and taken to jail.

5/17 @ 8:45 a.m. – A four-vehicle traffic accident on highway 60 near highway 45 snarled traffic just as the annual rummage sale was opening. Several occupants reported minor injuries.

5/20 @ 4:03 a.m.- An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle going 91 in a 70 MPH. The officer smelled the odor of intoxicants on the driver. The driver was arrested for OWI (PBT .188), operating without a valid license and speeding.

5/20 @ 5:51 p.m.- During a traffic stop, the driver gave the officer a false name. Multiple items of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances were observed in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of non-narcotic controlled substance (Suboxone), possession of THC, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping, and obstructing.

5/20 @ 11:06 p.m.- An officer on patrol issued a citation to a woman for operating without a valid license (2nd offense).

5/22 @ 10:00 p.m. An adult male was arrested after a report of a domestic violence incident.

5/24 @ 8:48 p.m. – JPD received a report that a woman was driving while under the influence with her infant child in the vehicle. The officer located the vehicle and contacted the woman and her boyfriend. The woman was cited for operating while suspended, resisting/ obstructing a police officer and possession of a controlled substance. The male passenger was cited for resisting/ obstructing an officer.

5/25 @ 4:45 p.m.- A female was arrested after a domestic violence incident.

5/26 @ 10:32 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of six adult men involved in a fight. One adult male was arrested for disorderly conduct.

5/26 @ 12:49 a.m.- An adult woman gave a false name to an officer while on a traffic stop. She was identified by her fingerprints. The driver was arrested for obstructing an officer and a warrant.

5/27 @ 7:31 p.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop and found the driver had a revoked driver’s license. The driver had an open criminal case and had been ordered not to drive. He was arrested for operating after revocation and bail jumping.

5/29 @ 5:05 p.m.- An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle and found the driver was impaired. A preliminary breath test resulted in .101 %. The driver was arrested for OWI 1st.

5/30 @ 3:51 p.m. – Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on the highway 60 off-ramp from highway 45. The vehicle had rolled over and the driver was injured. The driver was cited for OWI (1st) and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
